2.2 Using the Accu-Chek Smart Pix Pocket Tools software from the USB flash drive

The following steps enable you to use the software directly

from the USB flash drive:

• Plug the USB connector on the Accu-Chek Smart Pix

device reader into a free USB port on your computer.

• Plug the USB flash drive containing the Accu-Chek

Smart Pix Pocket Tools software into the second free

USB port on your computer.

Once you have plugged in these two items, you have the

following options:

• Windows (XP) opens two windows automatically (or

after a confirmation request), displaying the contents

of the two removable media (

SmartPix

and

Pocket-

Tools

) as folders.

• If this does not happen (e.g. in the case of Windows

2000), open

My Computer

with a double click. Then

SmartPix

and

PocketTools

are displayed as removable

media.

• Double-click

PocketTools

(removable media) in order

to display the contents. You will now see some files

and folders and the program file

Accu-Chek Smart Pix

Pocket Tools.exe

• Double-click the program file

Accu-Chek Smart Pix

Pocket Tools.exe

to launch the program directly from

the USB flash drive.
